From its earliest inception as the Hydraulis to the latest in organ technology, the organ has had an incredible influence on the history of music and sound. Spire celebrates this ‘Emperor of Instruments’ with live performances for organ, electronics, piano and voice, contrasting digital and analogue to create a rich sonic journey unique to each performance location. See Spire in Spitalfields for the first time, visiting St Botolph without Aldgate and its newly restored Harris organ.

Touch.30 | January to December 2012

Touch’s first release was Feature Mist [T1] in December 1982, so 2012 is our 30th anniversary. There will be a series of events and releases throughout the year and this page will be regularly updated to keep you informed. You may have noticed that Touch.20 was held in 2001, and Touch 25 in 2006… A discrepancy you might think. But no! Touch was conceived by Jon Wozencroft in 1981, in 1982 Jon and Mike Harding went to see New Order in Norwich (May) and received the cassette master of “Video 5-8-6” which was released on Feature Mist…

About Field…

Field is a live installation produced by Lasse Marhaug [NO], Jana Winderen [NO] & Mike Harding.

Marhaug steps out of his noise clothing to tempt and seduce. Winderen continues her sound ecology work and Harding puts natural sounds from the city back where they belong… Together they form a delicate and sensitive sound which they will present for the local sheep population.
